Campus Walk

I went on a nice walk around campus the other day and took some photos of things that caught my eye. I went in the evening and the light was beautiful!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Desk Lamp Lighting

I had some free time on my hands today and decided to try taking some self portraits. I turned off the lights in my room and just lit my face with my desk lamp, I really like the result!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Small Town Details

Sometimes small, abandoned towns are just as good as my favorite big cities!

Crop that Picture!

Our latest assignment in my Intro to Photography class was all about cropping. Our teacher wanted us to get close to our subject, compose in the camera, and do absolutely NO cropping afterward in Photoshop. Another point of the assignment was to crop in an interesting way so that you don't immediately know what you are looking at in the photo. What do you all think?

Look at something in a different way today. You may be surprised at the beauty you see all around you!

I love you Grandpa

My Grandpa

You are one of the best people I know. Your smile and laugh are infectious. I can't help but be happy when I am around you. So many things remind me of you.

Whistling, cowboy jokes, harmonica music, playing the guitar, hiking, a balcony with a view.

I could sit and listen to you talk for hours. I love hearing stories from your youth and laughing along with you when you share a funny experience.

I love how you love grandma.
I am inspired by how much you love and respect each other. Your relationship is one that I hope to have in my own life one day. Your positive attitude through everything is such an incredible example and is something that I am trying to work on in my own life. You are such a great example to me; knowing you makes me strive to be a better person.

You said something the other day that really struck me.

"That's what it's all about - gladdening hearts."

I try to keep that thought with me everyday. I look for ways to leave someones day a little brighter than it was before I saw them. I'm not saying I'm good at it; it's a work in progress. But I hope to gladden someones heart the way you have gladdened mine on numerous occasions.

I feel so incredibly blessed to get to be a part of your beautiful family and to have the knowledge that we will be together forever.

Grandpa, I Love You

A day at the flare.

I really wanted to get some fun, sunset-y, warm pictures. I was super happy with the results! I love a good sun flare. Thank you Chelsey for being so patient :)

My Favorite New York Window

Walking through the NYU campus I spied this student work window display. I was immediately drawn to the cute colorful chairs. Combine that with the reflection of the trees behind me and you get a cool combo.

Hope you all had a nice long weekend and a wonderful Monday-like Tuesday!

Post Processing

I have been playing around with my dad's Nikon D300 and some of his lenses and I am loving them! I used a f1.8 lens for this picture and love the look of that shallow depth of field! It's also so interesting how much post processing can change the feel of an image.

Which do you guys like better?

Change...your life, your mind, 25 cents.

My dad and I went on a drive through some small towns around where we live and I found this fantastic old soda machine. (Love the color!) Although this is just a slot where you pick up your change, I love the double meaning the picture also holds.

What could you change today?

4 Little Bikes

I really love how the bikes are framed in this archway and I also love the repeating arches in the background. Thank you to the owners of these bikes - they made a great picture! hahah

Lots of Love
